The NEIGHBORHOOD GALLERY Arts Canter currently has two art gallery spaces on site a haven for community youth, visual artists and exhibitions. Our galleries serve as resources and venues where our youth and adult artists are encouraged to inspire and engage in conversations with NGAC visitors and art professionals through art exhibitions, open studios, workshops and gallery talks.
What's Going On? Atlanta Painters 2010 Exhibition
It was a great turnout for the Opening Reception of the Atlanta Painters 2010 Exhibition featuring 20 artists! The show was well received by approximately 150 guests. The music featuring Denise Willingham, (Flautist of Elegance) eloquently complimented the beautiful display of works. To see more photos of the exhibition click HERE.
Open Studio
Our first figure painting session went great and we're getting ready for another!
The meetup will be from 2pm - 6pm on Sunday, June 20th. We will be painting from a live model that will focus on a long single pose. The model will break from time to time and resume their pose.
The cost will be $10 per person which will include four hours of painting with a live model, some light refreshments, snacks and use of the facilities. We need a minimum of EIGHT people to make this happen! We are requiring prepayment for the event so click HERE to sign up for our Meet Up Group and pay for an upcoming session or to see photos from our past sessions!
East Lake Garden Tour
The East Lake Garden Club and the Neighborhood Gallery partnered to provide artists an opportunity to showcase their talent during the East Lake Garden Tour 2010. Click HERE to see more photos of the East Lake Garden Tour 2010. Artist Registry The Visual Arts Department is developing a registry of artists that serves as a resource for our staff, outside curators, community members and businesses. Professional artists can make a proposal to NGAC for an exhibition opportunity on an ongoing basis.
